There are over 100 kids signed up for the summer reading program, “Every Hero Has A Story,” this summer. We started the program with a Super Hero Training Camp and now we have lots of super heroes all over town. The programs will run through the month of June with the last program being a swimming party on July 1st. Adults can read also. If all the readers read 10,000 pages during the 6 week program time, a superhero will make an appearance at the July 1st swim party. Let’s all read this summer.
To go along with the summer reading theme, the display case is featuring a collection of vintage Super Hero comic books. This awesome collection is being shared by Paul Gregory.
The library is pleased to feature the pictures of the Duck Stamp winners in the library for the summer. This display is on loan from the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. The winner of the contest this year was Osborne senior, Billie Spears. Also featured is Osborne Jr. High student, Savannah Cannon with a 3rd place finish in her age division. This display will be in the library until the first of August. Stop by and look at all the wonderful work that the kids in the state have done.

Five Reasons to take your child to the library:
1. Regular library visits lead to more reading.
2. You can expose your children to more books and magazines than you can afford to buy.
3. The librarian can recommend books that you may not know and broaden your child’s tastes to expand their minds and vocabularies.
4. Library time is active time, not passive
5. Having a library card teaches responsibility.
