'15 February As The Page Turns

The Library has started the month of February in a big way.  98 people came to the Arty Party that the library hosted on February 2nd.  This party showcased the artwork that the WAC students and story hour children had been working on in the month of January.  All the artwork was inspired by  famous artists and the children learned a little bit about that artist before they created their masterpieces.

February is Library Lovers Month.  What do you love about your library?  Do you love the books that we have?  Do you love the programs that we offer?  Stop by and tell us what you think of your library.

While you are in the library pick up a book from the Blind Date with a Book display.  All the books in the display are wrapped in plain brown paper so you are sure what book you are getting.  This is a fun way to step outside your normal reading box and try something new.

The Brown Bag Special will be on February 17th in the community room at noon.  The topic will be “Thanks Mom and Dad.”  Nora Rhodes from the Post Rock District Extension will be giving a presentation on how your family health history impacts your ability to manage a healthy lifestyle.  Knowing your family’s health history can help you and future generations know about certain health conditions that may be hereditary, make appropriate health care decisions, and live a safe and satisfying lifestyle.  RSVP at the library by         February 12th.

This is the last month for the Student Artist of the month.  The month of March the library will be hosting the Northern Plains League Art Show.  In April and May the student’s art work will be at various art shows.  Stop by this month and see Sr. High student, Teyha Enoch and Jr High student Steele Wolters projects.

Did you get a new tablet or reader for Christmas?  Don’t forget that you can check out books from the Sunflower eLibrary and the 3M Library.  These are two services that require current library cards from our library.  Stop by and have a staff member show you how to use these resources.

Remember, if you are looking for a book and the library does not have it, the staff can always see if we can get it in from another library.

Our hours are, M & Th – 10-7, Tu, W, F – 10-5 and Sat. 10-2.  The library is closed on Sundays.

The online card catalog can be accessed from our website, www.osbornepubliclibrary.blogspot.com  or at http://catalog.ckls.org    If you are having problems looking things up let us know at the library, 346-5486, and we will help you.

The library is a wireless hotspot.  This service is provided by Nex-Tech.
