The library geeks celebrations. This first week in April is a week of celebration as the library director is having a special birthday. In honor of this event, fines at the library will be cut in half from April 1st through April 7th. Come celebrate with the librarians.
April is the month for the library silent auction. We are fortunate to have 6 geek baskets this year. All of the proceeds from the auction will go towards the purchase of a color printer/copier/scanner for the library. If we can purchase this item we will be able to provide color copies for our patrons.
Each basket will have a silent bid sheet where you can place a bid. The highest bidder will win their basket on May 1st. The baskets will be in place on April 1st, 2012. Pictures of the baskets will be posted online and in the paper. Baskets themes are: I geek hair flair, I geek Osborne Bulldogs, I geek scrapbooking, I geek Osborne Public Library, I geek fresh scents and I geek Greek mythology. Stop by and see what goodies they all hold.
Show your support for the library by purchasing an IgeekOsbornePublicLibrary t-shirt. The library is taking orders for these shirts for $15 a shirt. This money will also go towards the color printer. Any funds over the price of the printer will go towards digitizing our microfilm department. Sample t-shirts are in the library so you can get the correct sizing.
The library geeks weather safety. It is the time of year when severe storms start up again in our state. The display case is featuring some tips on weather awareness and has a basic disaster supply kit. These are important facts that we all need to be aware of.
What do you geek? Stop by the library and share something that you geek.
Don’t forget that the library also has a few federal tax forms this year.
Our hours are, M & Th – 10-7, Tu, W, F – 10-5 and Sat. 10-2. The library is closed on Sundays.
