What do you geek? The library geeks eReaders. The library has purchased eReaders for the public to use with a grant from the McFadden Charitable Trust. They will be available for check-out mid-month. You can stop by the library and have a librarian show you how to use them. At this time the library will not be able to lend eBooks to patrons that already have their own eReader. The state library is still working to get their module up and running so that you can check out from the state library with a state library card. You can get a state library card at your local library at no cost.
This is the last month for this school year that the library will be having the student artists of the month. The students are busy taking their items to art shows. Featured artists for March are Senior Brandon Wisehart with a charcoal drawing and 7th grade students, Bretton Wolters and Teyha Enoch with their pencil drawings. The art work in the library will be changing more frequently during the springtime so be sure to stop in a little more often to see if Mr. Thompson has brought some different pictures, pottery or jewelry to share with the public.
The library geeks Girl Scouts. February is Girl Scout month and this year they are celebrating their 100th anniversary. The local chapters have contributed the items that are in the display case in honor of this event.
