2011 July As The Page Turns

Looking for something to do on a hot summer day? Come to the library. You can sit in the air conditioned comfort of the library and read a book, do a puzzle or look up family history. You can leaf through a magazine or find new places to download books. The library staff looks forward to helping you with your library needs.

July also marks the end to the summer reading program. The library staff has felt that this summer has been a good one for the kids. We had 75 kids enrolled in the “One World, Many Stories” program. There were 10 kids enrolled in the young adult program “You Are Here.” There have been 10 youth helpers and many adult helpers who have made these programs a success. The KAY club from the Osborne High School came and helped with a craft activity one afternoon. It takes all of these people to make a successful program.

Through the summer reading programs we have looked at foods, games, celebrations, stories, languages and videos that have shown us what it is like in other countries. The last program is showing the kids how businesses in Osborne use items or how their items are used in other worlds.

The library will have a booth at the Osborne County Fair promoting our programs. Stop by and pick up a bookmark.
